Last Day of Our Women's Study

14 weeks ago I began a women's study named A Resolution for Women by Priscilla Shirer which I posted about here. It was truly a wonderful experience that I will never forget. Yesterday morning we discussed the last chapter and then shared in a wonderful potluck brunch. Of course we took a group shot, of which I am very grateful to Shawn.

Our discussion leaders, Cheryl and Marta, gave us a wonderful print out of the Resolution that is beautiful enough to frame. It has beautiful foil writing on it, and it has a place for my signature and date.

At the brunch, all the ladies signed the back of each others' Resolutions. Here is mine.

A few things that I gained from reading this book and discussing it week to week with this amazing group of women were:
1. I need to focus on my CURRENT "season of life" and stop thinking/planning too much on the future. This is especially dear to me as a military wife. I find myself thinking about our next station or what my kids will be able to do in the future instead of enjoying our current state of life. This has truly impacted my life already. I took a mother/son bike ride with my 6 year old yesterday, and it was amazing for both of us.
2. My husband is my partner in life. Not a perfect human that can do no wrong. I learned/remembered that  I should respect him for who he is and support the man I married in our home and in public. I struggled/still struggle with how to accept his faults sometimes, but this study helped me remember how important it is to do so. I am not perfect by any means, and I still desire support just like he does/deserves.
3. It is important to realize that what I say/do or don't say/do will leave an impact on both my family and the "world." Leaving a legacy does not have to be in the physical sense, but will more so be in the memories people have of me and my actions. My scrapbooking helps me do this, but I also want to start a journal of memories that I can record for my kids. I want to ask them questions and then write down their answers. I feel they would love this when they are older...and so would I.

If you don't have access to a study like this, Priscilla has a webcast for all the chapters on her website for free with notes. I plan on watching them myself, as well. You don't need a group of women to benefit, but if you can get a group together, it is worth it.

This summer will be a wonderful time for me to reread this book. There are so many self improvement ideas that are heartfelt and desirable. This is the first study done at this chapel in a long time, and I look forward to a new one in September, I hope!!! It will be in my prayers for sure!

Have a great day & God Bless!

I love comments! I also enjoy questions.
I apologize in advance for the word verification, but I am not a fan of SPAM, and it drives me nuts. I hope you are patient enough to "beat the word robot." Thanks, again!
